Our lactation cookies help breastfeeding mothers dramatically increase and sustain their breast milk supply. Packed full of wholesome milk makin' goodness, you will love to treat yourself each day to our amazingly delicious cookies.

What We Put In Our Lactation Cookies

Grey's Cowbell Lactation treats are made with key ingredients believed to boost and sustain breast milk supply. By looking at these key components, we can better understand how a lactation treat works and why they can be so beneficial to add to a breasfeeding mother's diet.

  • Oats: All of our lactation cookies, granola, bread and muffins are oatmeal based. We use the entire steel cut oat. Oats are high in fiber and full of iron, protein and complex carbohydrates. Low levels of iron in the body can reduce milk supply so utilizing oatmeal in a breastfeeding mother's diet can be a very important and critical staple.

  • Flaxseed: Flaxseed is another key component in all of our lactation treats. Flaxseed consists of good fats and enzymes, which are important for increasing the content of breast milk. The content of mature human milk contains of 3%--5% fat, 0.8%--0.9% protein, 6.9%--7.2% carbohydrate calculated as lactose, and 0.2% mineral constituents expressed as ash. Its energy content is 60--75 kcal/100 ml. Ash refers to any inorganic material, such as minerals, present in food. It's called ash because the residue that remains after heating removes water and organic material such as fat and protein. Scientists that specialize in the study of food break down the "ash" in foods so that they can examine this leftover material to better determine a food's specific content. Flaxseed also has phytoestrogens that can aid and influence in the production of breast milk.

  • Fennel Seeds: Fennel seeds work much in the same way as flaxseed and is another favorite ingredient we use in our lactation treats. Like flaxseed, fennel seeds are also believed to be a galactagogue that yields estrogen-like properties thus potentially promoting higher breast milk production within a woman's body.

  • Brewer's Yeast: A final key ingredient we use is Brewer's Yeast. Brewer's Yeast is a nutritious dietary supplement that contains iron, protein, vitamin B, chromium and selenium along with other trace minerals. Brewer's Yeast is believed to be a galactagogue, as well, and is also believed to help breastfeeding mothers make more milk.

Combining these critical key ingredients at just the right amounts is what makes Grey's Cowbell lactation treats superior in effectiveness and performance.

Our primary focus is to provide a superior product that yields a highly effective result. While still providing a delicious, convenient, easy to implement product into the busy lifestyle of today's Momma.
